A Public Local Inquiry has been held and the Reporters’ recommendations received for the South Lanarkshire Local Plan. The Council is proposing to make further amendments to the plan as a result of the Reporters’ recommendations.
This consultation document, the Statement of Decisions and Pre Adoption Modifications, details the Council's responses to the Reporters' recommendations and proposes a number of modifications to the Local Plan before it is adopted by the Council. Hard copies of this document together with the Reporters’ Report have been deposited at all public libraries, Q&A offices and the Council Offices at Montrose Crescent, Hamilton; Brandon Gate, Hamilton; Civic Centre, East Kilbride; King Street, Rutherglen; South Vennel, Lanark and the Municipal Hall, Kirk Style, Biggar. Copies can also be downloaded from the Resource Centre below.
In publishing and placing on deposit this document the Council is providing the opportunity for representations regarding these decisions and modifications to be submitted. The purpose of doing so is to allow parties that consider themselves to be affected by these changes to make a representation which will be considered by the Council. However the scope to make representations at this stage in the Local Plan process is limited, only representations to the proposed modifications can be accepted. Where objections are received that relate to matters which were not considered at the LPI consideration will be given to allowing the objector the opportunity of being heard at a public inquiry or hearing. In relation to objections to matters which have already been considered at the Inquiry, a further public inquiry will not be necessary.
